CHIP GIANT INTEL will release a version of the Itanium in 2005 that includes two processors in the same package – confirming reports from last year.
And, apparently, according to Mike Kanellos at news.com it will up the level three cache on Itanium Madison processors to 9MB next year.
That's not shown on current Intel roadmaps seen by PC manufacturers so far. Madison and Deerfield are launched in the middle of this year, and the cache for the former is as much as 6MB and will run at a speed of 1.5GHz.
