Meant to complement its existing line of single-processor blades, RLX Technologies has come out with the RLX ServerBlade 2800i and 3000i dual-processor blade servers and the RLX System 600ex chassis.
Essentially high-performance servers, the new dual-processor blades are intended to enable life science companies to conduct a broader range of in silico research than has been possible up to now. "In the past, we optimized density; now we're delivering maximum performance with high density," says Bob Van Steenberg, RLX's chief technology officer. "With the higher-performance products, we can now address a broader range of bio applications such as process simulation and protein folding."
