Storage company Adaptec has released a network accelerator card which it claims will boost the performance of servers running high-performance Linux applications.
The Adaptec Network Accelerator 7711 implements the new TCP/IP Offload Engine standard, taking all TCP/IP processing from the host system.
Adaptec product manager Steve Owen explained that the card allows networks to go faster without affecting the processor.
