TechWeb: IBM Topples HP From No. 1 Spot In Server Market

IBM took the No. 1 spot in the second quarter for sales of computer servers, toppling Hewlett-Packard Co., which fell to No. 2, a market research firm said Friday.
The second quarter ended a nine-quarter decline in year-on-year revenue growth in the worldwide server market, IDC said. However, compared to the same period last year, server factory revenues rose only 0.2 percent to $10.6 billion, making it too soon to declare that the market had begun a rebound.
