The Inquirer: AMD releases Opteron chips and prices through distribution

QUANTITIES OF AMD'S Opteron microprocessors have already become available through large US distributors for system integrators to buy, a week ahead of the official launch on the 22nd of April.
Reliable sources tell the INQUIRER that both Bell and Avnet say chips are in stock with prices for the parts, in trays, available too.
It appears that AMD will also offer boxed Opteron server microprocessors through its channel distributors as well.
The distributor price for the Model 240 is $275, for the 242 $670, but the 244 won't be available through the channel until May.
