OPEN SOURCE software is taking another big step upwards in the corporate structure. One of the places that Linux has built a good reputation is in mission-critical enterprise systems. Fujitsu is one of the biggest players in that game and it has announced that it will be working with Red Hat to make Linux even better.
The announcement is that the two companies have effectively formed a partnership to build tighter code, optimise Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Fujitsu hardware and market the results. This being Linux, the resulting code should pour back into the community, giving everyone more reliable systems.
