ClearCube and United Devices Partner to Create First PC Blade Grid Solution for Hospitals, Researchers
Medical Research to Reap Benefits of Coupling Grid MP(TM) and PC Blades
AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 20 -- ClearCube Technology and United Devices announced today a collaboration that combines blade and grid technologies to advance the security, speed and accuracy of modeling for medical researchers, creating a solution that is the first of its kind in the pharmaceutical market.
learCube Technology provides an ideal secure computing solution for controlled environments, such as hospitals and research facilities, by allowing for centralized blade computing via user ports that have no moving parts and cannot ingest or expel contaminants. By integrating United Devices' Grid MP(TM) software, researchers on the ClearCube system can now also apply the full range of their distributed IT resources, including ClearCube blade servers, as a High Performance Computing (HPC) solution.
ClearCube Technology is the market leader and pioneer in PC Blade computing. United Devices is an acknowledged leader in grid computing applications and dominates the field in global life sciences, one of the first industry segments to widely embrace distributed high-performance grid computing applications.
"Pharmaceutical and medical researchers first turned to United Devices to increase the effectiveness of their programs and extend the reach of their research dollars by leveraging underutilized resources through our distributed computing technologies," said Ben Rouse, chief executive officer of United Devices. "Now laboratories and teaching hospitals who have adopted the ClearCube solution can do the same, harnessing dispersed resources, including ClearCube blade processors, to create their own HPC capability."
The ClearCube solution enables a dual-use computing environment. The traditional PC is removed from the end user's desk and replaced with a small user port. These ports are connected via existing cable infrastructure to PC Blades located in racks in a central, secure location. End-users work on ClearCube PC Blades with the latest Pentium 4 and Xeon processors as a desktop computing platform available from anywhere in the world. Simultaneously, these same blades or dedicated blades can be used as a powerful High Performance Computing solution.
"Technology makes a difference in the lives of patients. Deploying the ClearCube solution provides a safer, more secure patient care environment," said Carl Boisvert, president and CEO of ClearCube Technology. "For the first time researchers will have the same resources at their disposal to help make significant advances in the creation of medication, understanding the spread of diseases and general medical research."
ClearCube has established a proven track record of success, having been widely adopted across multiple industries. ClearCube has an expanding customer base that includes leading firms, organizations and hospitals such as Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group, Oklahoma Heart Hospital -- America's first all-digital hospital -- John C. Lincoln, Edward Hospital, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Lehman Brothers, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Air Force, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Visit ClearCube Technology, September 26th at the High Performance Computing Show in New York City at the Roosevelt Hotel. ClearCube will be demonstrating how financial services companies have leveraged the ClearCube solution in the ClearCube booth (220) and in both the IBM (210) and Intel (206) booths.
