IRVINE, CA, Jan 3rd, 2006 --PSSC Labs ends 2005 with a triumphant bang. The company reports strong growth in the commercial sector of their business. Sales of the company’s flagship PowerWulf Linux Clusters to commercial customers nearly doubled from the previous year. According to PSSC Labs, commercial customers accounted for nearly 40% of total revenue. PowerWulf Linux Clusters were delivered to several new customers including Edwards Life Sciences and Biogen IDEC.
“I believe the growth of our business into the commercial sector is a reflection of what is occurring in the high performance computing community as a whole,” asserts Alex Lesser, PSSC Labs Vice President. Linux clusters emerged from government researchers and immediately gained interest by university departments and governments laboratories. Many commercial enterprises, however, have waited before investing in this burgeoning technology. Mr. Lesser asserts, “For PSSC Labs 2005 will be marked as the year that commercial companies acknowledged Linux clusters as a viable platform for high performance computing tasks. We are very pleased to continually be selected to provide companies with their first Linux cluster.”
The company also reports a record number of Linux clusters delivered in 2005. PSSC Labs shipped an average of eight PowerWulf clusters per month. Each PowerWulf Cluster is custom configured for each end user’s specific application and budget and included PSSC Labs’ CBeST (Complete Beowulf Software Toolkit) cluster management software package.
