DreamWorks Film Assisted by HP

TechTree: HP technology reportedly assisted DreamWorks Animation SKG in creating the recently-released animated film, "Over the Hedge".

The servers, workstations, and Halo collaboration studios that were required to create this computer-generated (CG) film were delivered by HP.

Lighting and special effects for the film were created using HP xw9300 workstations and ProLiant DL145G2 servers, powered by Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors.

Apparently, these systems offered enhanced computing power as compared to DreamWorks Animation's previous generation of systems, thereby helping artists to work on multiple scenes simultaneously.
